Transitioning to a paperless trail
Project Type: Transitioning to a paperless trail
Obstacles: Lack of executive support, Lack of internal interest, Legacy organizational practices

Progress: Gathering Support & Resources
Progress Overview:
I have discussed this idea with the people who would be doing the brunt of this work and they are excited about implementing it. I am going to bring this up with our director next and if she gives the go-ahead, we will start the new process. // 10.17.2008 at 2:28 PM
Project Description
Our office oversees and manages many different programs throughout the college and we keep a record of everything that goes through this office for signatures, payments, etc. This produces a lot of paperwork, which not only takes up a lot of physical space but then you have to worry about what to do with it when you don't need it anymore.
Project Solutions
Scanning and storing all the documents electronically. Our office has a very high-powered multi-function copier that can quickly scan in pages of documents. Since we already maintain an Excel file that lists out where the documents are located physically in folders, its a simple step to add a link that takes you to the document directly without having to get up from your seat to go find it.
