John Spence, LLC
Bio
I began my career right out of college in 1989, working for the Rockefellers in one of their international foundations and was named Executive Director/CEO of that organization at age 26. Just two years later at age 28, I was nominated as one of the top CEO's in Florida under the age of 40. I left the foundation in 1994 and have been an independent consultant since that time. I have delivered training and consulting projects to more than 300 companies worldwide, including firms like IBM, AT&T, GE, Microsoft, Merrill Lynch, Pepsi, Allstate, State Farm, Ford, Tropicana, Frito Lay, Northrop Grumman, Abbott, Fidelity Investments, US Navy, Verizon, Alltel, Bank of America, the PGA Tour and many more. I was recognized by INC. magazine as one of the leading young business trendsetters in America in 1995. The Society of Human Resource Managers named me the number one professional trainer in Florida in 1999 and that same year was nominated as one of the 50 most influential business thinkers in the world in Fast Company Magazine.
I have served on the Board of Directors for the University of Florida’s Center for Entrepreneurship & Innovation and as an adviosr to their Leadership Development Institute; as the senior instructor at the Cornell Leadership Development School; and several times as a guest lecturer on "strategic thinking" at Wharton. Currently I serve as "Executive in Residence" for the University of Central Florida’s Technology Incubator; and as a special advisor to the Rawls College of Business at Texas Tech University.
