Mr. Garroni heads the Media group and is also instrumental in the Technology Group for Deson & Company. Mr. Garroni has over 30 years experience in the development and management of entertainment companies. From an early age, Mr. Garroni was fascinated with Hollywood movies, seeing the world differently than others. While still in college Mr. Garroni began working in the New York independent film industry determined to forge a career making movies. Mr. Garroni soon became a Principal Partner in the motion picture Production Company Cinerex Associates, Inc. whose clients included Twentieth Century Fox. In 1979 he created Magnum Motion Pictures, a company that produced the international horror movie sensation “Maniac”. He then produced a series of quintessentially New York movies – “Vigilante”, a gritty revenge film – to the other end of the spectrum “I Love NY” – a “Romeo & Juliet” story starring Scott Baio.
Mr. Garroni moved to Los Angeles, CA in the early 1990s to make his mark as a producer. He co-founded Magnum Entertainment, a successful home video distributor, and served as Head of Acquisitions. Garroni became President of Axis Films International, Inc. which supplied films to Home Box Office, ShowTime Networks and Direct TV. From 1995 to 1998, he pursued an entrepreneurial opportunity in the emerging market of Brazil, building the second largest video duplication facility in South America. In 1999 he joined the Board of Directors of Nettaxi, a free web hosting community website that was a precursor to the “My Space” social network phenomenon and served until the company merged with Rae Systems. He is a shareholder and member of the Board of Directors of Alchemy Communications, Inc., a large web-hosting and collocation company in Los Angeles. Mr. Garroni currently serves as the Executive Producer of ShowTime’s movie series “Naked City” a remake of the “classic golden age of television”, series. He attended Farleigh Dickinson University and Graduated with High Distinction.
